A recent post on Everything Typepad informs us that TypePad's Widget Gallery has been pulled down.
I know I'm not alone when I wonder if we're seeing the decline of TypePad. Turnaround time on help tickets now seems to be about 72 hours. It's been nearly two weeks since I sent my email to TypePad's new GM and I've not received a response - a world of difference since the days when a comment on Twitter would prompt Anil Dash to call me on the phone.
The other day I made a foray into TypePad's Advanced Templates to see if we could use them to solve a specific customer's problem. While the documentation for Advanced Templates was never great, almost all of it has been removed. Advanced templates are now pretty worthless.
All this leads me to worry that TypePad's best days are behind them.
Hey, Dave. Thanks for the thoughts. A month in and I'm getting my legs under me. Sorry if response time hasn't been as fast as you'd have liked. I'll put a big cutout of Anil's smiling face on my desk to remind me to respond faster :) The team is working hard - not just on supporting current user needs but also on planning for a big, bright and bold future for TypePad.
I'm looking forward to hearing more from you as we head into that future together.
Hope all is well with you!

Hi, Glad to see that someone has noticed the decline,I was wondering if it was just me! I've been using typepad since 2009 and it seems to me at least less commerically aware than its competitor wordpress who seem to be steaming ahead when it comes to business.
One question I just can't seem to get a straight answer anywhere and I wondered if you can help or point me in the right direction. I'm re-doing my opt in box in my sidebar and wanted to add an image (e.g. ebook cover of a freebie I'm offering).
How do I do this? I understand I need to get a design done, then link this with my opt in box provider which is currently aweber). I can't find the "steps" or how to's anywhere can you help?
I hope you can advise as typepad have been pretty vague!
Thanks
